The Rome-Floyd Chamber’s annual Confluence was held at the historic DeSoto Theatre in downtown Rome, Georgia on April 12th.  The Confluence is a one day conference of inspiration, innovation and motivation.  The community-based event is planned and executed by the Rome Floyd Chamber with help from a large volunteer committee.  The Confluence is designed to provide insights on emerging technical trends and generate ideas as well as promote an entrepreneurial spirit in the community.

This year’s attendees learned about trends in virtual reality; toys and games; wearable technology; 3-D printers; and the implications of new technology in healthcare.

Speakers included Dr. David Lee, UGA Vice President of Research and Development, Thomas Gatliff, Owner of Gatliff Technologies, Annie Eaton, President and CEO of Futurus, Matt Nuccio, Design Edge, Joshua Cutter and Berry Student Team, Solar Powered Sensor, Dr. Himanshu Patel, Redmond Regional Medical Center and Harbin Clinic, Witt Teem and Graham Widmann, HackBerry Fashion Show

NORTHWEST GEORGIA MOBILE CAREER CENTER

The Mobile Career Resource Center is a 13-station, state-of-the-art, fully accessible computer lab. The unit offers a full array of services.  Internet connection is via satellite. Printer, scanner and copy services are available on the unit.
