On-going Events

  Workshops for Military Veterans

Workshops for military veterans will be held every six weeks at the Northwest Georgia Career Center, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. The Military Veterans workshop is a resource to assist veterans in their career search and inform them of benefits and resources that they may not be aware of. For more information, contact the Career Center at 706-861-1990.

Workshops for Shaw Industries

LaFayette Career Center is providing workshops for all applicants interested in working for Shaw Industries-LaFayette. The workshops cover Shaw's mission, vision, history, and benefits. Workshop attendees are provided area labor market information and hiring trends. In addition, job readiness, ethics, job retention, and morale are covered in the workshops. 

LaFayette Career Center, working with Doug Tucker, Shaw Industries-LaFayette Human Resource Manager, is sole source provider of applicants for Space Dye, Heat Set and Cabling positions.

West Central Technical College Workshops for Carroll & Haralson Family & Children Services Clients and all single parents. October 3 - 14 -- Job Skills  Carrollton Campus & October 17 - 28 -- Introduction to Computer Skills  Waco Campus. The workshops with be offered again in December and every other month thereafter.

Assessment Center is located in the Library. Ms. Phyllis Chunn is the Assessment Center Coordinator. She can be reached at 706.802.5318. Tests available include: SAT, ISAT, Regents Exam, AHAT, Compass, FCCS Exemption, and Praxis.
