Customers interested in OJT services should take the following steps:
Step 1: Call or visit one of our Career Centers and talk to the OJT Career Counselor
- The Career Counselor will provide information about all WIOA programs to determine which best suits the applicant’s needs.
- In addition, they may also provide information on or make referrals to other One Stop partner services.
Step 2: If the Career Counselor determines that OJT is the best fit they will have the customer complete the WIOA application.
- The applicant should be prepared to provide document such as driver’s license, social security card, past income or work history (including layoff notice, if applicable), and any information pertaining to enlistment in the armed forces. All males born after 1961 must be registered for the Selective Service.
Step 3: The Career Counselor will have the customer take an assessment test to determine their current skill level and will also discuss the applicant interests.
Step 4: Once determined eligible the Career Counselor will work with the applicant to make referrals to appropriate employers and provide the applicant with program information that can be shared with other employers during their job search.
Step 5: The OJT applicant will have to follow any application requirements of interested employers.
