Request to be Eligible Training Provider
The Workforce Development Board (WDB) of Northwest Georgia is accepting applications for Training Provider Agreements under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) for training services to eligible adults, older youth, ages 18-24, and dislocated workers for the Northwest Georgia WIOA Region which includes the counties of Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Haralson, Murray, Paulding, Pickens, Polk, Walker, and Whitfield.
Applications should include programs of training services or courses of study requested for approval. Approval will result in a Training Provider Agreement which will provide reimbursement only for tuition and other approved individual costs such as books, supplies, and entrance fees. Training included in the application must exist at the time of application and courses must be currently available.
Provider applications must be approved by the WDB and will then be forwarded to the Technical College System of Georgia, Office of Workforce Development, for review. Upon finalization of review by the Technical College System of Georgia, Office of Workforce Development, the training provider and its approved programs will be included on the State Eligible Provider List as published throughout statewide One-Stop Centers. Applications are accepted throughout the program year but referrals to selected training providers are based upon availability of federal funds.

If you are interested in being placed on the Bidder’s List(s), please email to request a Bidder’s Checklist, and indicate which category(ies) you would be interested in receiving Request for Proposals (RFP). The Checklist(s) are available on the web site at www.careerdepot.org or requests for a Checklist(s) (and later the completed form) may be mailed to Terri Morgan, Northwest Georgia Regional Commission, P.O. Box 1798, Rome, GA 30162-1798 or email to tmorgan@nwgrc.org. All known community-based organizations and local educational organizations will receive notification of “Request for Proposals” being issued. reentry simulation
On April 18, 2023, Worksource Northwest Georgia and Northwest Georgia IWorks joined a Reentry Simulation sponsored by the Rome-Floyd County Library, LivingProof Recovery, the Reentry Services Division of the Department of Community Supervision, the United Way of Rome & Floyd County, and the Department of Sociology & Anthropology of Berry College.
This activity was designed by the U.S. Department of Justice to simulate the challenges faced by people transitioning from incarceration into society. In this simulation, participants experienced firsthand a small sample of how individuals returning to the community after incarceration navigate life within the first month of their reentry.

Thanks to Chattahoochee Technical College for partnering with Northwest Georgia IWorks, Worksource Northwest Georgia, and Northwest Georgia Regional Commission on April 19, 2023 to provide a Leadership Seminar for employees of our local manufacturers in Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Haralson, Murray, Paulding, Pickens, Polk, Walker, and Whitfield Counties.

February 17, 2023. Worksource Northwest Georgia recently received $700,000 from the Technical College System of Georgia for the QUEST (Quality Jobs, Equity, Strategy, and Training) Grant. QUEST Grant funding is intended to be utilized to serve unemployed and underemployed workers, who have been impacted by COVID-19, by connecting job seekers with training leading to high quality jobs in high demand industries.
On July 5, 2022, he USDOL announced available Dislocated Worker Grant funding to support the public workforce system’s ongoing efforts to empower America’s unemployed and underemployed workers through worker and business engagement, elevate equity, and connect jobseekers with high-quality jobs. Subsequent to that announcement, Worksource Northwest Georgia requested, and recently received, $700,000 from the Technical College System of Georgia for the QUEST (Quality Jobs, Equity, Strategy, and Training) Grant. QUEST Grant funding is intended to be utilized to serve unemployed and underemployed workers, who have been impacted by COVID-19, by connecting job seekers with training leading to high quality jobs in high demand industries.
